Pest control affects human health and the environment, so in Türkiye it is carried out under the Biocidal Products Regulation and related Ministry of Health rules. This page summarises the legal and technical assurances you should look for in a pest control company.
Which documents should a company have?
- Biocidal product applicator permit: Issued by the provincial health directorate and valid for a set period.
- MYK vocational qualification certificate: Shows the competence of the technicians.
- Product licence and MSDS: The licence number and safety data sheet of every biocidal product used can be requested.
- Liability insurance: A professional liability policy against possible damage.
What we ask of you before treatment
- If there are pregnant women, babies, asthma patients or pets at home, tell us beforehand; products and methods are chosen accordingly.
- Aquariums, bird cages and food are removed from the treatment area or covered.
- Kitchen worktops and dishes are covered; children's toys and bedding are put away.
Written document after treatment
After every treatment a report is handed over containing the product name, active ingredient, dose, method, waiting period and the National Poison Information Centre number (114) to call in an emergency.
For food facilities
Food production and sales premises must keep a pest control programme under Law No. 5996 on Veterinary Services, Plant Health, Food and Feed. The programme includes a monitoring map, treatment records and a product list; these documents are requested in audits.
