The effectiveness and safety of pest control also depends on how you behave afterwards. Following the instructions below improves both your safety and the durability of the result.
Ventilation and waiting time
- After spray and fogging treatments, keep windows open for 2-3 hours, then close them.
- No ventilation is needed for gel bait treatments; still keep pets and children away from where the gel was applied.
- Wait 2-4 hours for surfaces to dry; let children and pets back in after that.
Cleaning
- For 10-14 days after treatment, do not wipe floor edges and wall bases with a wet cloth, so the product's effect period is preserved.
- Wiping shared kitchen surfaces with normal detergent is fine.
- Sweep up dead pests that appear here and there; seeing new pests in the first days is normal, because affected pests leave their nests.
What to expect
With cockroach gel bait the effect starts in 48-72 hours and the population drops markedly in 10-14 days. For bed bugs a second treatment is needed for newly hatched individuals. With rodent bait, a dead rodent may be found in 3-7 days; tell us where you found it to avoid odour.
Tips for lasting results
- Store food in lidded containers and take out the rubbish every evening.
- Seal gaps around bathroom and kitchen drains with silicone and check door-bottom brushes.
- Think of radiators, pipe penetrations and ventilation grilles as pest entry routes.
- Fix damp spots (dripping taps, traps).
