The bed bug (Cimex lectularius) is a 5-7 mm night-feeding blood-sucking pest. Its bites appear as rows of red bumps; black dots (droppings) and skin-coloured husks on mattress edges are detection signs. Fleas, in contrast, usually spread via pets or carpets.
We offer two options
- Heat treatment (55 °C): Rooms are brought to 55 °C for 4-6 hours with special heaters and fans; it kills all stages including eggs in a single day. No chemicals are needed, but electronics and heat-sensitive items are removed beforehand.
- Two-stage chemical treatment: Microcapsule spray and dust on beds, bases, skirting and sockets; a second treatment after 10-14 days targets newly hatched individuals.
Preparation
- Wash sheets, duvet covers and clothes at 60 °C or above and tumble dry; 30 minutes at high heat is enough.
- An anti-bacterial protective cover on mattresses cuts off the escape route.
- Have pets treated by a vet for fleas.
Guarantee
We give a 90-day guarantee on two-stage treatment and 60 days on heat treatment. We offer bulk programmes for hotels, guesthouses and dormitories.

Frequently asked questions
How long should we stay out of the home after treatment?
No wait is needed after gel bait. After spray or fogging, stay out for 2-4 hours with windows open; then ventilate and re-enter.
Is treatment safe with children, pregnant women or pets?
If you tell us beforehand we choose odourless, water-based and low-risk formulations, and prefer gel bait and mechanical methods in sensitive areas. Aquariums and cages are covered during treatment.
Does the treatment smell or stain?
The microcapsule and gel products we use are odourless and stain-free. During fogging a slight odour may appear briefly and goes away with ventilation.
How does the guarantee work?
A 90-day guarantee applies to all home treatments (two years for termites). If you see the pest again in that period, call us and we reapply at no extra charge. Obstructions to treatment (such as damage to a barrier) are outside the guarantee.
