Rodents do not just eat food; they gnaw cables, pipes and insulation, creating fire and water-damage risks, and spread disease through urine and droppings. In Istanbul, rat density is high especially in coastal buildings, behind restaurants and on construction sites.
The programme we apply
- Entry route detection: Gaps larger than 1.5 cm outside the building and at ground level, and drain and sewer connections, are surveyed.
- Locked bait stations: Numbered stations that children and pets cannot reach; trace-leaving anticoagulant bait or bait-free monitoring blocks are used.
- Mechanical traps and glue boards: A chemical-free option in sensitive areas (open kitchens, food stores).
- Gap sealing: Physical barriers using steel wool, metal mesh and polyurethane foam.
Monitoring and report
Stations are checked every 14 days; consumption, dead counts and new signs are plotted on a map. Businesses receive a monitoring map and logbook form after each visit.
Odour from rodent deaths
If a rodent dies inside a wall after feeding, a temporary smell can occur. In that case we locate the spot with you, remove the carcass and deodorise the area.
